"Syokai-shii" has short scary stories based on chinese patrimonies.The stories are sometimes so totally-unexpected that you may be shocked with endings. And sometimes the stories have strange endings which are extremely-irrational but pregnant suggestive.
The main character = Aki is the boy who can see ghost. He is very adorable. And his guru = Gogyou-Sensei is the very skilled taoism master. They get into paranormal phenomena or sometimes solve them.
Moroboshi's style is not realistic, and makes a positive effect on these stories. Because of his dry and somewhat comical style, you'll enjoy even dreadful scenes. They are of course awful, but humorous too.
